Disbelief

How can we as americans the land of the free, keep allowing this tragedy to happen. For a country who is supposed to be fighting for justice for all people young and old we sure do seem to be lacking in this departing as far as sex crimes against children go. How can a child molester or rapist only serve 5 years on a 10year sentence for example, or how do they not serve anytime for 40 year sentence. Somebody just tell me why does this happen in this country. At this rate victims will continue to be silent, especially if they feel that there is no justice.(Don't mind me I'm just venting)
